Getting to Leipzig
🚂 We took a train from Berlin to Leipzig.
🚘 With a car it's possible as well.
🚍 If you are traveling from within Europe, there are typically cheap bus options.
✈️ We originally flew from the United States to Berlin.
Our trip to Leipzig (2017)
*My most recent trip recap.*
Day 1:
We took the train early in the morning from Berlin. We checked into our hotel first thing and then set out to check out the town. As we were walking down the main street we saw a childrens performance going on that we stopped to watch for a bit. They were so cute! None of us speak german and so of course we didn't understand what was being said. Afterwards we went to a crêpe shop that was next to where the performance was taking place for breakfast. Leipzig is a historic town religiously since it is where Martin Luther (Protestant reformation) held a religious debate. This year was extra special because later that fall was the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation. Around lunch time we wandered into St. Thomas' Church where by chance they were having an organ concert. We stayed to listen. Afterwards we explored shops in the town and settled in for the night.
Lodging
We stayed in a hotel.
